Our Brie and Camembert cheeses awarded in the 2nd Provincial Cheese Contest

On 10/15/2021, the outstanding products of the 2nd Provincial Cheese Contest were crowned, in addition to the 1st Manteca Contest and the 1st Dulce de Leche Contest.

For two days, 38 specialized juries worked to define the winners of the 12 categories of cheeses, two for dulce de leche and one for butter. The award ceremony took place in the La Argetina room of the Villa María Rural Society (it was also broadcast by digital media).

The event, which began in 2019 and suffered an impasse due to the pandemic, returned with renewed strength, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock; the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Mining; the Association of Small and Medium Dairy Producers (Apymel); and the Escuela Superior Integral de Lechería (ESIL), on which locals and visitors highlighted the work from the call, analysis, dynamics of the jury, logistics and more, with a great team.

La Boheme Brie cheese achieved the maximum score of 100 points in the contest organized by ESIL, Apymel and the provincial government. The event was held in the room of the Rural Society and once again concentrated the best products of the Cordovan territory

The owner of La Boheme, Ricardo Rossa, passed along with Gerardo Veronese, Production Manager of that plant, to receive the awards for the first place in "Cheeses with external molds", with 100 points in the case of Brie and second place with 99.5 points in the Camembert. Veronese said to himself "with great joy an award for effort is received", while Rossa acknowledged: "I don't like public exposure very much, but we do give a lot of importance to these recognitions, because there are people who know."

Category cheeses with external molds:

  • - First place: Brie La Boheme with 100 points
  • - Second place: Camembert La Boheme with 99.50 points
